Armstrong Cable
Mike is a thirty-four year veteran of the Cable Industry working his entire career with Armstrong. He serves as CTO for Armstrong Cable. Mike and his team are responsible for all segments of Network Architecture development, Engineering, Capacity Planning, and Installation for Armstrong's Broadband Internet, Voice, and Digital Video Networks including Headends, Backbone Networks, HFC/FTTH plant engineering & operations. His team is responsible for application strategy development and integration on Set-Top box platforms. In 2006, Mike and his team designed and deployed Armstrong's Digital Simulcast network while consolidating Headend operations across Pennsylvania and Ohio following the deployment of a centralized VOD network.
In 1997, Mike led the design and deployment of Armstrong's first Cable Modem Networks to support the launch of Armstrong Zoom Cable Internet over newly rebuilt HFC Networks. Mike, along with many Armstrong colleagues, went on to lead the development, design, test, and build-out of Armstrong's PacketCable Network to support the launch of Primary Line Cable Telephony in 2005. He is Armstrong's representative to CableLabs serving on PacketCable teams.
Mike began his career in 1977 for Armstrong as an installer/service tech working to the position as System Maintenance Technician. Mike received his BSEET from Penn State University in 1994; afterwards, he joined Armstrong's home office engineering team as operations engineer. Prior to being named CTO, Mike held the position of Vice-President of Engineering and Technology.
He is a SCTE National and Penn-Ohio Chapter member. Mike earned a BCE Certification in 1993.
